This book is amazing。 Francine Rivers， as always， tells a great story！！ A young women who inherits a mine （why？？） from a man she has never met。 And she dresses like she is rich 。。 。 。 even though all she has is the mine and the house the man who owned it 。 。 。 her stepfather kicked her out 。 。 。 Seriously an amazing book！！！

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 Dnf page 188I was loving the book in the beginning and I love Kathryn so much， but once when I came to the church part， of when Thacker embarrassed her， we learn that this was Mathias’s fault so she won’t do the voice。 This made me despise him， she was always criticized， been told what to do and church was the only way for a source of comfort and Mathias ruined it。 There was also when Mathias barged into her house and kissed her just to shut her up。 I was hoping there was some major character de Dnf page 188I was loving the book in the beginning and I love Kathryn so much， but once when I came to the church part， of when Thacker embarrassed her， we learn that this was Mathias’s fault so she won’t do the voice。 This made me despise him， she was always criticized， been told what to do and church was the only way for a source of comfort and Mathias ruined it。 There was also when Mathias barged into her house and kissed her just to shut her up。 I was hoping there was some major character development， but I read comments saying he did not change and there are other major red flags。 。。。more

This was an enjoyable read， but not as good as Rivers usually is， imo。 This one was less overtly christian and more of a "good clean romance。" I usually like her books because of the faith journey of the characters and the way she doesn't just make the characters "go to church so it's a christian genre"， but she didn't do that this time。 I was also a little surprised at the focus on women's rights。 That said， it's still Francine Rivers， so I enjoy her writing and characterization。 Just a quick， This was an enjoyable read， but not as good as Rivers usually is， imo。 This one was less overtly christian and more of a "good clean romance。" I usually like her books because of the faith journey of the characters and the way she doesn't just make the characters "go to church so it's a christian genre"， but she didn't do that this time。 I was also a little surprised at the focus on women's rights。 That said， it's still Francine Rivers， so I enjoy her writing and characterization。 Just a quick， escapist read this time。 。。。more

This is the first book by Francine Rivers I have read。 Absolutely loved it！ She knows how to show her readers the inner chambers of the hearts of her characters while adding many great layers to the plot。 This is truly a page-turner！

Good but Not OriginalThis was a good book， don’t get me wrong。 I LOVE Francine Rivers and have read all of her books。 If you have seen “When Calls the Heart，” you have pretty much read this book。 There are some differences （jobs， names， etc。）， but the overall theme and plot line was the same。 That was quite disappointing。 If you haven’t seen the show， this would be a great， easy read。
